The shooting occurred in the 100 block of Kingston Avenue, near South Third Street, around 9:27 p.m. The victims were found by the police after responding to a reported drive-by shooting.
Both the child and the man sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to separate hospitals for treatment. The child was taken to Norton Children’s Hospital, while the man was admitted to University of Louisville Hospital.
