Weekend Forecast
Denver is set for a wet start to the weekend, with rain showers transitioning into snow by Friday evening. Accumulations of several inches are expected by Saturday.
Timing
Rain showers are predicted to persist through Friday night in the Denver metro area, with snowfall expected to commence around 7 p.m. The high country will experience snowflakes from midday Friday into Saturday afternoon.
Snowfall Distribution
The bulk of the snowfall is forecasted for Georgetown, Boulder, and Conifer. Snowfall is expected to begin in Georgetown by 2 p.m., Boulder by 5 p.m., and Conifer by 6 p.m. Castle Rock will likely see accumulations after 6 p.m., followed by Keenesburg and Bennett after 7 p.m.
Snow Totals
While Denver will experience a mix of rain and snow, with minimal accumulation, other areas in Colorado are poised for more substantial snowfall. Overnight Friday into Saturday, Denver may see around 2 inches of snow on the ground, while other regions could experience significantly more.
Front Range Snow Totals:
- Georgetown: 10 inches
- Boulder: 5 inches
- Conifer: 5 inches
- Estes Park: 4 inches
- Bennett: 3 inches
- Parker: 2 inches
- Denver: 2 inches
The Palmer Divide and foothills are expected to receive 2-4 inches and 4-10 inches, respectively.
