Residents of Stone Mountain Village weren’t alone in their endeavor to beautify their surroundings. They were joined by city council members, police officers, and public works department representatives. Together, they targeted litter in various areas, including parks, neighborhoods, downtown, and the local cemetery.
A New Venue for Community Events
Following the clean-up, residents enjoyed a community cookout at the Baptist Lawn. This marked the inaugural event held at this expansive green space, recently acquired by the City of Stone Mountain from the First Baptist Church of Stone Mountain.
Friendly Competition Spurs Results
Residents formed five color-coordinated teams, each vying for the title of best cleaners. Ultimately, the yellow team claimed victory for the second consecutive year, showcasing their dedication to keeping their community pristine.
