ELGIN, Ill. – Victor Ayllon, a suburban man, has pleaded guilty to the murder of his wife and leaving her body with their two young children in 2021 in Elgin. The 38-year-old entered a guilty plea for first-degree murder on Thursday in Kane County court.

Ayllon allegedly strangled his wife to death on July 12, 2021, at their home in the 300 block of Heine Avenue. The grim discovery came to light when officers responded to a report of a 4-year-old boy found in the area of Lawrence Avenue and North Aldine Street around 6:40 p.m. The child, unharmed, was identified as living in the same block as the Ayllon family. Upon reaching the residence, authorities found a 3-year-old boy inside, and tragically, the body of Wendy Ayllon, the mother of the two children, was discovered on the floor.

Officers later found Victor Ayllon at his parents’ home with faint marks on his wrists. He was subsequently hospitalized and then transferred into police custody.

The investigation revealed chilling details of the events leading to Wendy Ayllon’s demise. She had picked up her husband in the early morning hours of July 12, 2021. Surveillance footage from their home captured the sound of arguing, Wendy’s screams, and a thud, according to prosecutors. Victor Ayllon confessed to officers that he accused his wife of infidelity, sparking an argument about his drug addiction. Tragically, this confrontation escalated to him strangling her to death, leaving her body with their two children.

An autopsy determined that Wendy Ayllon died of manual strangulation. Despite Victor Ayllon’s accusations, officials found no evidence to support claims of infidelity on his wife’s part.

Victor Ayllon now faces the possibility of up to 60 years in prison, followed by a mandatory supervised release period of 4 years. He is currently in custody at the Kane County Jail, with a scheduled court appearance for sentencing on June 20.
