In yet another tragic incident, a person was shot and killed aboard a Metro bus in Commerce, Los Angeles, marking the fourth violent attack on Metro transit within the week. The shooting took place on the 6200 block of Slauson Avenue, between Eastern and Garfield avenues, around 4:50 p.m., as reported by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
According to officials, the assailant approached the victim from behind, brandishing a firearm and fatally shooting them. Both the victim and the suspect were passengers on the bus, and it’s suspected that a confrontation precipitated the shooting.
The suspect attempted to flee the scene on foot but was swiftly apprehended by law enforcement nearby.
