LAS VEGAS — Two individuals lost their lives in a suspected DUI crash near Boulder City, Nevada State Police Highway Patrol reported.

Tragic Incident Unfolds

On Saturday at approximately 2:20 p.m., Nevada State Police received notification of a collision near mile marker 6 on I-11, approximately eight miles from Boulder City.

According to authorities, the crash involved two vehicles colliding head-on due to one vehicle traveling in the wrong direction.

Upon arrival, emergency responders declared a man and a woman deceased at the scene.

Impaired Driving Suspected

The driver of the wrong-way vehicle sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Law enforcement announced intentions to charge the driver with suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI).

Additionally, two juveniles who were passengers in the vehicle were taken to a nearby medical facility for precautionary assessments.

Road Closures and Investigation

In response to the incident, Nevada State Police initiated road closures to facilitate their investigation. The interchange exit ramp from U.S. 95 to go southbound on I-11 was shut down, along with the closure of I-11 southbound for several hours.
