The Sonora Police Department is actively seeking three individuals believed to be responsible for a recent robbery at a Walmart in the city.
Brazen Robbery Incident
According to police reports, the suspects, donning masks, gloves, and hoods, targeted the store’s customer service area. They employed a hammer to forcefully extract cash drawers from their secure fixtures.
Before departing the scene, one of the assailants purportedly brandished the hammer in a threatening manner towards a bystander, coercing them to yield space. Subsequently, the suspects absconded from the premises, absconding with both the cash drawers and an undisclosed sum of money.
Swift Getaway and Investigation
Authorities revealed that the trio made their escape in a dark-colored Infiniti sedan, which was awaiting them with a designated getaway driver. The vehicle reportedly sped away towards Sanguinetti Road, evading initial pursuit.
Following the incident, a prompt tip from a vigilant citizen led law enforcement to recover two of the pilfered cash drawers. The items were discovered abandoned on Golf Links Road at Highway 108, approximately 3 miles west of the East Sonora vicinity. Notably, the cash contents had been depleted prior to their disposal.
