One person was killed and another injured in a targeted shooting at a gas station in southeast Houston, as authorities released surveillance images of the suspects involved.

Incident Details

The shooting occurred around 7 p.m. on S Wayside Drive near Telephone Road and the Gulf Freeway, escalating a tragic event on the streets of Houston.

According to Houston police, four individuals in a black Cadillac Escalade had stopped at the gas station for shopping. Upon returning to their vehicle, they were confronted by two other vehicles: a gray four-door Dodge Charger and a gray four-door Mercedes sedan. Each vehicle carried two armed individuals with long rifles.

The Shooting

Without hesitation, all four gunmen disembarked from their vehicles and began firing at the Escalade, leaving the vehicle’s windshield pierced with bullet holes. The onslaught left at least two victims inside the Escalade wounded, with one, aged 34, succumbing to the injuries, while the other, aged 29, was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The assailants swiftly retreated to their vehicles and fled the scene via Telephone Road, evading capture as of Monday night.

Police Response and Investigation

Assistant Chief Adrian Rodriguez of the Houston Police Department asserted that the victims and their vehicle were specifically targeted. Homicide detectives are actively pursuing leads and interviewing witnesses to piece together the sequence of events leading to the tragic shooting.

Authorities described the suspects as all males, three of whom were clad in white shirts and pants, while the fourth wore a white shirt with black pants.
