The victim’s parents, Edit and Roland Novshadyan, received texts from their 12-year-old son detailing the incident. According to the boy, the teacher struck his arm and subsequently locked him inside the classroom in an attempt to intimidate him. Roland recounted the moment when his son managed to call him, only to have the phone snatched away by the teacher, who then proceeded to yell at him.

Edit Novshadyan was alerted by school staff about her son’s situation and rushed to the school. Upon arrival, she found her son had been released from the classroom under the escort of a school official. The parents expressed their disapproval of their son eating in class but stressed that the teacher’s reaction was disproportionate.
