Las Vegas police have apprehended a teacher on charges of felony child abuse or neglect at a learning institute in the west valley.

Authorities received reports on April 1st regarding an incident involving a student at a learning institute situated in the 9000 block of Hillpointe Road, close to North Rampart and West Lake Mead boulevards. Following the report, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department initiated an investigation into the matter, which was subsequently taken over by abuse and neglect detectives.
Arrest and Legal Proceedings
After more than a month of investigation, on May 17, Eryka Westover, aged 33, was arrested as the primary suspect in the case. She was taken into custody and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on charges of felony child abuse or neglect.
If granted bail, one of the conditions stipulated is for Westover to maintain distance from the learning institute where the alleged abuse occurred. Notably, Westover’s association with the institute has been severed, as she is no longer listed among the faculty on the institution’s website.
Westover’s upcoming court appearance is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, at 9 a.m.
