ARCATA, Calif. – In response to ongoing pro-Palestinian protests that saw demonstrators occupying key campus buildings, Cal Poly Humboldt has taken the unprecedented step of closing its campus through the end of the semester. This decision comes as tensions rise on college campuses across the United States regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict.
Campus Shutdown and Remote Classes
Cal Poly Humboldt announced that it will transition to remote classes and shutter its campus from Friday through May 10. The move follows the occupation of Siemens Hall and Nelson Hall East by pro-Palestinian protesters. While the closure aims to ensure the safety of students and staff, the university plans to release more details about the shutdown in the coming days.
