Leslie Lopez, 25, allegedly struck 21-year-old Kimberly Alissa Espinoza along the 1500 block of Lee Trevino Drive around 3:00 a.m.

According to a report by the El Paso Police Department (EPPD), Espinoza was attempting to cross the street at a non-designated area when she was hit by Lopez’s Jeep Cherokee. A witness at the scene observed the events unfold, noting that Espinoza and two others appeared to be arguing before Espinoza ran across Lee Trevino Drive.

The witness, armed at the time, pursued Lopez after she failed to stop, eventually blocking her path with his vehicle.
