In the early hours of Friday morning, a tragic incident unfolded in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, as a triple shooting occurred, resulting in one fatality and two individuals hospitalized. The incident took place at 1:21 a.m. in the 9900 block of Taylorsville Road, near Grand Avenue, according to a news release from Jeffersontown Police.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a man and two women suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The two women were rushed to UofL Hospital in critical condition.
The deceased individual was identified as 22-year-old Aljay Williams by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. The police have disclosed that the shooting transpired amidst an argument at an apartment complex and emphasized that it was not a random shooting. It was further clarified that all parties involved in the altercation were acquainted with each other.

The aftermath of the shooting has left the community grappling with fear and uncertainty. Louann Speare, a resident near the scene, expressed her apprehension, stating concerns for both her safety and that of her neighbors. She underscored the urgency for intervention, likening the area to one where safety is elusive, remarking, The city has got to do something to save — it might not be a nursing home, but it’s just like one. And we can’t get away from bullets.
