Lexington, North Carolina – Two individuals have been apprehended in connection with the tragic fire incident that claimed the life of Lexington Fire Captain Ronnie Metcalf, as confirmed by the Lexington Police Department.

Fire Incident and Response

Just after midnight on Tuesday, the Lexington Fire Department swiftly responded to a distress call reporting a house fire on West 5th Street. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered significant flames and smoke emanating from the rear of the residence. They promptly initiated efforts to suppress the fire. Search teams later discovered the missing firefighter, identified as Captain Ronnie Metcalf. He sustained severe burns and was promptly airlifted to Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Health. Arrests Made
