A pair of weather advisories have been issued for parts of San Diego County as the weekend brings scattered showers and wind to the region.
High Surf Advisory
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a High Surf Advisory effective from 4 p.m. Saturday until 9 a.m. Monday for coastal areas. A northwest swell is expected to bring large breaking waves of 5 to 7 feet, posing risks to life and property.
High Wind Warning
NWS also issued a High Wind Warning effective from 6 a.m. Saturday until noon Sunday for San Diego County mountains, including Julian, Pine Valley, and Campo. Westward winds of 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 80 mph, and isolated gusts up to 90 mph, are expected, potentially causing travel difficulties and property damage.
Weekend Forecast
Winds are expected to peak Saturday afternoon into the night, with widespread rainfall from the coast to the mountains on Saturday due to a weak atmospheric river. Sunday will see continued rainfall, with varying amounts across the region.
