FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. – Late Thursday night, a tragic incident unfolded on Interstate 95 near State Road 84, also known as Marina Mile, resulting in the death of an unidentified woman. The incident occurred at 11:17 p.m. on the northbound side of I-95, involving multiple vehicles.

Incident Details

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the woman fell from the overpass and landed on a 2016 black Ford Explorer. The vehicle, driven by a 33-year-old man from Boca Raton, was traveling northbound when the woman struck the hood and front right side of the SUV. Following the initial impact, her body landed in the northbound number four lane.

Tragically, another unidentified vehicle ran over the woman after she landed on the roadway. This second vehicle did not stop and continued driving northbound.

Response and Investigation

The driver of the Ford Explorer pulled over to the east shoulder of I-95 and reported the incident. Authorities arrived promptly, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The FHP is currently investigating the incident and is actively seeking any information regarding the second vehicle involved.
