A tragic incident occurred in Nevada County resulting in the death of a 35-year-old woman who was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a DoorDash delivery. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the fatal crash took place on Saturday morning.
Crash Details
At approximately 2:45 a.m., CHP Grass Valley officers were alerted to a single-vehicle accident near the South Ponderosa overcrossing on State Highway 20. Upon arrival, they found a 2007 Acura TL off the side of the highway with two individuals inside.
The driver, a 35-year-old man from Grass Valley, reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, causing the Acura to veer off the north side of the highway and collide with several trees.
Fatal Consequences
Tragically, the passenger succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the crash. The driver sustained major injuries and was airlifted to Sutter Roseville Medical Center for treatment.
