Jacksonville, Florida – A woman was discovered shot to death at the Gregory Cove apartment complex in the University Park area late Monday morning, prompting an investigation by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO).
Incident Details
JSO Sgt. Steve Rudlaff reported that patrol officers were summoned around 11 a.m. to the 5600 block of Edenfield Road, situated off University Boulevard North, following multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered a woman, aged approximately between 40 to 50 years old, who had sustained gunshot wounds.
Response and Investigation
Personnel from the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department arrived at the scene and sadly pronounced the woman deceased. JSO’s Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit have since initiated an investigation into the incident. Sgt. Rudlaff stated that at present, the circumstances surrounding the shooting and the relationship between individuals involved remain unclear.

As the investigation progresses, Rudlaff noted that the case’s classification is pending. Authorities are yet to determine whether the incident is an isolated event or if there is a potential ongoing threat to the community.
